February 7th Portals exist and might be available for rapid transportation within a few years.
Portal definition: A unique gateway to another place through an entrance/exit to a bridge or tunnel. (You just gotta love real science applications) Entering a portal to get to a distant destination in seconds could soon be achieved and available using instructions & devices like the following… 1. A self-driving car. 2. 2 navigation systems i.e. 2 smartphones with Google mapping & GPS OR 2 Garmin dash-mounted navigators, etc. etc. etc. 3. Any 2 Walmart parking lots OR Any 2 Tim Horton drive throughs OR Any two carwash locations (arrive clean). You will need to drive into one and leave from the other. You can choose any 2 Google recognized portal placements of your liking ( i.e. Starbucks, Costco, Dog Parks, launch sites, camp grounds, Fast Food locations, Lutheran Retreat Centres, etc. whatever…) 4. Set one Garmin or Smartphone to the Start Destination and the other to the Arrive (final) Destination. 5. Drive into the Start Destination, and turn on any of the following frequencies on your car radio or playback device. Choose NPR, BBC, CBC, CNN, or Netflix. Leave the key on and the vehicle running. Turn on the 4 way flashers. Press Start The Journey, sit back and relax. 6. It will take less than a minute to seek the destination and begin safe transport to avoid collisions with other tourists in the maze of connecting portals. 7. To return simply reverse the procedure on the navigation devices, and press Start Journey. 8. Be advised that solar flares, planet alignment, and the shifting magnetic northt pole can affect FM and GPS reception causing occasional portal irregularities so be advised not to portal high or under the influence. Keep you hands on the steering wheel, and foot on the brakes while portalling just in case. Rock on. 9. Aside: In order to travel in time or through Black Holes, worm holes etc. or anywhere in space beyond the earth you will definitely need to take and actually pass a (not yet fully created) lengthy, bipartisan, fully government accredited totally overseen degree program at a recognized post-secondary institution. You will have to promise to follow the extremely strict rules & vow not to change the course of human history like not copying down winning lottery numbers or somehow rig an election. In addition to simply leaving the planet Earth (and all of our current time zone systems) there are a number of issues to consider. Some include the affordability of it all and knowledge base skillsets working with warp drives, flux capacitors, quantum physics, black hole survival, avoiding satellites, algorithmic understanding, reading star charts in time, CB and communication language (things like 10-4, Roger that, alpha-bravo-charlie-delta, and mayday-mayday-mayday), wearing space suits for long periods of time, squeeze tube food preparation, light speed manoeuvring, space station docking, and non-threatening alien involvement. Be aware that the huge challenge of travelling safely in outer space or time is not like a fun day of windsurfing at Port Dalhousie or Long Beach you know, just saying. In a cautionary moment be aware that even things like tuning to 1950s classic AM stations featuring Wolfman Jack, or The Hound during time/portal travel haven't yet been factored into the past~future journey algorithms and may not be safely suitable. Be patient and let the future of it all unfold safely tested, workable, and true. Worst case scenario in playing with time travel might mean that you and yours could become a complete write off, wiped out entirely, ceasing to exist without even a trace of stored memory anywhere. Think about it. Expressions like Far Out and Outtasight somehow come to mind! 10. Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls. (Joseph Campbell) You're either on the bus or off the bus. (Club Yukon Management Team) (Oops, in fact it was actually counterculturalist ~ Ken Kesey) |

Wednesday, January 27th Fondly looking back some 60 years when restoring/rebuilding the High School ride was a serious work in progress… |
Every nut, bolt, washer, wire, (whatever) was repaired, rebuilt, replaced, plated, painted, wirebrushed, lubed, and/or refinished. |
There were many, many, 'flat tires' on that unmapped road to recess… |

Found & mated (tight squeeze) a Volvo B16B engine & 4 speed transmission (6V/negative ground) into the 1950 MGTD (12V/positive ground). About 15 fun years to completion. |
Used a Bosch 12 Volt starter & a Lucas 12 Volt generator with a rear shaft attachment for the mechanical tach drive. (Two of the easier solutions in the rebuild.) |
