Healing, and considering options. . .
(Healing, an ongoing pursuit. . .)

Sometimes, it takes a serious diagnosis to seek alternative treatments. Cancer is one of those moments that forces you to reevaluate everything.
When I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer 3 years ago, following a a PSA test of 42.7, my first questions were: “How much time left do I have with the prescribed treatment?” and “What are my alternatives?”
The 2022 standard prostate cancer treatment in Canada (for me) was radiation followed by about 24 months of hormone therapy. I was told that in 80% of cases like mine, the cancer is likely to return within four years. I agreed to proceed. There was also hope given in new and upcoming trials/studies and potential future cancer treatment discoveries.
Hormone therapy can be continued again for several times in the event cancer returns. After that time it doesn’t work and can cause an anti-immune disorder. Not good.
During and following radiation/hormone therapy , I researched other treatments and found a number of unverified, unproven but one promising option. The other one that stood out was the Nanoknife procedure, used successfully in Europe. I read about a Canadian patient who recovered from terminal pancreatic cancer after undergoing the Nanoknife treatment in Toronto in 2013. However, when I brought it up to a doctor during a followup, she dismissed it as internet nonsense.
Undeterred, I told my friend and columnist William Thomas, who consulted a German clinic that validated the Nanoknife procedure. After accepting the validation procedure, and availability Bill opted to go and underwent Nanoknife treatment in Germany. He was declared cancer-free within days, and fully wrote about the whole experience and process in his weekly column. To my knowledge, about 20 Canadians have followed his lead and were successfully treated for prostate cancer. At the time, not advertised or acknowledged was a Nanoknife clinic in Toronto which offered the procedure. It came with a cost in Germany—around $30,000 CDN, plus all travel expenses. That said I’m not sure about the cost in Toronto at North Toronto Prostate Centre Inc., the first provider of the NanoKnife System for prostate cancer in Canada. I’m also unsure if that treatment could be used for a metastatic cancer condition. (Aside) - I’m recently told the cost for prostate cancer treatment at North Toronto Prostate Centre is around $25,000 CDN which might include a likely tax reduction. . .
In addition to Nanoknife there are several new potential cancer treatments that use nanobots that specialize in destroying cancer cells, plus stem cell research looks more promising as current research progress unfolds. When available these treatments will likely come at a cost.
For now, it’s a waiting game until my June 2025 PSA test result becomes available. With a steady post treatment PSA result of 0.02 for the past few years there was an increase to 0.04 this past November. 2024 The small increase might signal cancer’s return. One thought is that my immune system might kick in and keep the malignancy under control. If my PSA stays below 5.0, which was the “safe” threshold I will survive. However, if my PSA levels grow exponentially from last November—0.02, 0.04, 0.08, 1.60, 3.20, 6.40. . . my end of life looms once again in sight. It’s enough of an uncertainty that gives another pause to rethink this moment in time.
Simply put, my life is exceptionally (damn) good, and I definitely want to keep living fully. I am, from a physical standpoint, engaged and very active. Family, friends, travel, golf, watersports, hiking, long walks, cycling, new adventures, travelling, hey, my want to do list goes on, and on, and on. . .
The first option to continue with hormone therapy or a similar drug will be a definite choice made to reduce the presence of cancer if needed.
And, I’m thankful for all of this and the care given by the team of urologists who took care of me as needed throughout my initial treatment.
There is also hope in new research advancements. Scientists in Sweden have made a major breakthrough in the fight against cancer using origami nanobots. These tiny machines, powered by nanotechnology, can precisely target and destroy cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. This technique could pave the way for successful near future cancer treatments.
Stem cell research also offers promising possibilities. Stem cell transplants have a 60-70% success rate in treating certain blood cancers. In regenerative medicine, stem cell therapy shows up to 80% success in joint repair and autoimmune or inflammatory conditions. As for metastatic prostate cancer, which spreads through the body and bloodstream—only time will tell what all additional breakthroughs may come.
Another exciting development comes from Durham University in the UK, where researchers have used nanobots to drill into cancer cells, destroying them in just 60 seconds. They are now testing on microorganisms and small fish, with rodent trials/studies next. Human clinical studies & trials are expected in the future, offering the hope that this innovation could save millions of lives.
However, I worry about the future of Canada’s healthcare system. The possibility of profit-driven healthcare looms, leaving us in yet another “wait and see” situation in our world. If people are willing to spend $75,000 or more on a new truck, would they pay the same to save their lives?
What about those Canadians who simply cannot afford the cost any procedure? Will future political leadership assist in their healthcare in a just and fair way? . . .I’m somewhat doubtful in that outcome at this moment in time.
Also, if further treatment in my situation is needed, I began exploration and am currently involved in another alternative healing options. Please keep reading. . .
Many people have experienced radical remission—cancer disappearing without conventional medical treatment. Yes, it happens. Yes, there are many documented cases. And yes, there are key factors that contribute to these recoveries.
If you choose to explore this path or any other way, proceed with caution. The internet is filled with many misleading, money-driven claims as well as sound, valid info. The sources I trust are written by accredited doctors, writers and validated experts. Ultimately, your recovery depends on your trust, belief, and commitment to healing.
Be prepared for some surprise moments, I’ve had a few. Follow your instincts. I’m open for any questions. (connect by email down below)

(In a particular reference) - Dr Wayne Dyer - Chapter 13 - It Is My Intention To Optimize My Capacity To heal And Be Healed.
(In a particular reference) - Dr. Kelly A.Turner - The 9 factors that can make a real difference as follows. - p. 8 referencing her book outline 1. Radically changing your diet 2. Taking control of your health 3. Following your intuition 4. Using herbs and supplements 5 Releasing suppressed emotions 6. Increasing positive emotions 7. Embracing social support 8. Deepening your spiritual connection 9. Having strong reasons for living. (Dr. Turner states - It’s often more than one of these factors that were used.)
It was interesting to note that in Turner’s book she mentioned “. . .when a few of the survivors told me that their doctors had actually asked them not to tell any of the other patients in the waiting room about their amazing recoveries. Why? So as not to raise ‘false hope’ and mislead others into thinking another person’s healing might also work for them.” (page 2)
Note - The Power Of Intention, Inspiration, and Excuses Begone!, are a all singular books from Wayne Dyer combined in a trilogy titled The Essential Wayne Dyer Collection Hay House 2013
(Anatomy of the Spirit), Caroline Myss & (You can Heal Yourself), Louise Hay are worthwhile reads and also available at most Public Libraries.

There are gems and worthwhile discoveries in every book on healing that I read. Just keep reading, I always found something of value in each book come by along this chosen pathway.
Once started on your journey are many other helpful reads, sources, and suggestions from these all of these authors in their footnotes, additional notes, indices, etc. that will help. Seek and ye shall find.
By the way - to all males, it’s in your best interest to insist on a PSA test after age 75 regardless of what might still be a standard (Ontario) medical response of “no”. I sincerely regret not doing this. My cancer would have been detected sooner and treatment could have been much easier and more likely longer lasting.
